Privacy Notice

Last updated: July 2026

Explore Albania is designed to be privacy-friendly. We keep data collection to the absolute minimum needed to run a map. This notice explains what does and doesn’t happen with your information.

What we collect

We do not require an account, sign-up, or any personal details. We do not ask for your name, email, or payment information — bookings happen on third-party sites, not here.

Your location

If you tap the “locate me” button, your device asks your permission and uses your location only within your browser to centre the map and show places near you. Your location is not stored by us and not sent to our servers.

Cookies & local storage

The app itself sets no advertising or tracking cookies. To work offline and remember your language and light/dark preference, it stores small amounts of data locally on your device (via your browser’s storage and a service worker cache); this never leaves your device and you can clear it any time in your browser settings.

Third-party links

When you click a booking or affiliate link (e.g. Booking.com, Viator, DiscoverCars), you leave our Site and those companies may set their own cookies and collect data according to their own privacy policies, over which we have no control. Please review their policies for details.

Maps, images & analytics

Map tiles are served by CARTO using OpenStreetMap data, and some photos load from Wikimedia Commons; these providers may log standard technical request information (such as IP address) per their own policies. If we enable website analytics, we use a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool that measures aggregate, anonymous usage only and does not identify individual visitors.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is generally nothing for us to access, correct, or delete. If you have any questions about privacy, contact us at hello@explorealbania.org.

Changes

We may update this notice from time to time; the “last updated” date above will change accordingly.
